Minnie Kallmeyer was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1882, and came to Canada in early life. She studied at the Central Ontario School of Art in Toronto under F. McGillivray Knowles, and took private lessons with J.W. Beatty. Later, she studied with Walter Thor in Munich, Germany, and in Paris at the Academie Colarossi. She was a member of the Ontario Society of Artists. Her landscapes depict a variety of locations in Canada, the United States and England. She died in Toronto in 194 7.
