Artistic Impression 

Thomas Garland Greene was born in Toronto in 1875. He took night classes at the Central Ontario School of Art under William Cruickshank, while working days in a print shop. In 1902, he went to England where he studied at the Westminster Art School and the Finsbury Art School. Returning to Canada in 1904, he first worked as a commercial artist before embarking on a teaching career. He was a member of the Arts and Letters Club, and the Mahlstick Club, and was president of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour in 1929 and the Canadian Society of Graphic Art from 1931 to 1933. He wrote many reviews and articles for various publications and several catalogues about art for children. He died at Orilla, Ontario, in 1955.
