William Greason was born in St. Mary's, Ontario, in 1884. He studied in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy, and in Paris at the Academie Julian with Bachet and Laurens. In 1910, he moved to Detroit where he conducted art schools and summer schools in Northern Michigan. He died in Detroit in 1945.
